  • Collaborated with the March of Dimes to lead an initiative to reduce birth defects through a Folic Acid awareness campaign.
  • Provided a forum through which the existing perinatal networks and other key stakeholders examined ways to improve perinatal health services in their community.

The Premature Infant Health Network (PIHN)

The Premature Infant Health Network (PIHN), an initiative of the Association of Perinatal Networks of New York, recognizes the unique and sometimes life-long consequences children born prematurely face.  In an effort to better understand the challenges premature infants and their caregivers encounter both in the NICU and when care begins at home, the Premature Infant Health Network brings together community and health organizations, healthcare providers, and parents to hear from those that experience firsthand the many unique challenges premature infants and their families face.  Our overall objective is to develop a statewide network that will increase quality healthcare access and awareness around premature infant issues in New York State.
